Logistics Coordinator

Job Responsibilities:

The primary role of the Logistics Coordinator is to handle day-to-day operational elements to fill equipment orders, receive & track inventory and seek out the best method to move the freight based on the customers’ requirements and the company’s guidelines.

Specific Job Responsibilities:

  • Process orders for stock with factory
  • Process customer orders and match with ordered stock
  • Place new orders with the plant
  • Receive stock invoices from factory on a timely basis so a clear view of available stock can be obtained
  • Process arriving vessels, making sure orders are corrected, if required
  • Send production orders to Premier or Amerequip (based on product being processed)
  • Send finalized orders to the Freight Coordinator for finance approval & trucking arrangements
  • Participate in discussions involving what products to order and stock, specifications on orders and make up of base models to order from plant
  • Provide day-to-day support of internal sales force, operations and management
  • Keep daily and weekly reports up to date and sent to all team members & management
  • Control stock of kits and manage re-supply with parts department or direct with supplier via creation of purchase orders, receiving and periodic check of stock levels
  • Control overall stock of loaders and associated kits, keeping within timed supply lead times to ensure smooth operating control

Essential Skills:

  • Meet & exceed customer requirements at every stage of the order fulfillment process by assuming responsibility for total customer satisfaction
  • Demonstrate strong negotiation, communication and interpersonal skills in order to interact with dealers and co-workers in a team-based environment
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and changing priorities in a fast paced environment
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills

Knowledge and Experience:

  • Agriculture background a plus
  • Prior inventory experience
  • Experience in transportation/logistics is an asset
  • Some understanding of eco/political factors & security issues affecting the transportation industry will be beneficial
  • Knowledge of general office duties, such as invoicing and filing
  • Computer literate with a focus on Outlook & Excel; BAAN software a plus
