Georgia’s State FFA Breakfast
I always enjoy spending time with any FFA student. The 2010 FFA breakfast held at the Capitol here in Atlanta, Georgia, was no exception. Twenty-four local FFA chapters were represented and nearly 200 people in all attended the breakfast. It was delightful to hear the leaders of tomorrow speak with such passion and to know that so many young people are still interested in farming and the agriculture industry.
Georgia's FFA President, Bo Corbett, served as the MC for the breakfast. This guy is amazing. Other FFA officers also talked. It was very refreshing to see the excitement and enthusiasm they all possess. Legislative speakers included: Speaker of the House, David Ralston; Senator John Bulloch; Representative Tom McCall; Agriculture Commissioner, Tommy Irvin and more.
After the breakfast FFA members toured the state Department of Education, Department of Agriculture and the State Capitol. Governor Sonny Perdue took group pictures with the FFA members, which they all enjoyed. Our Governor is such a delight. I am truly thankful to be a part of FFA in America.
